aquatic biology and ecology

Overview

I have many, many scientific interests. The above word cloud was produced using my most recent publications. In general, my interests include stream ecology, community ecology, life-history, morphology, ontogeny, physics, statistics, astrobiology and conservation biology.  I am interested in stream dynamics and the relationship between aquatic organisms and environmental properties from small, local habitat use scales to broad riverscape scales. My research has spanned from gastropods to nutrients to algae to fish, with a focus on understanding functional relationships among multiple hierarchical levels (e.g., size, age, trophic position). For a list of publications, please visit my Publications page.
